Agent Vinod - The non Review

- Note : If you intend to watch the movie do not read any further for the risk of spoiling the fun (or maybe just read and you would know ) -

The most talked about couple in Bollywood at present, teamed up for Agent Vinod  and with promotional videos of "Pyar ki Pungi" and  "Dil mera muft ka" it all seemed to be some team!

The movie kicks off in Afghanistan with a fight sequence where Saif and Ravi Kishan (his friend and fellow RAW agent) ninja fight more than 5 hand full men. The camera angles are bad enough for not letting you  realise how idiotic  is the scene with saif and ravi running around and also managing to save this hot chick while bullets are flying everywhere on the planet earth but on them. Anyway, later Ravi kishan is killed by some gangster for having heard the number '242'. He obviously manages(just somehow) to pass on a video message about it.

After that, everyone looses it. Saif travels everywhere. Characters were introduced only to be shot.I am pretty sure Saif left behind DON, as he must surely be wanted in more than 11 for killing people everywhere! Kareena comes up with "Tumhari mummy tumko kya kehke bulati hai" as she plays a doctor or maybe an ISI agent or a British Agent(No one but Kareena would know). I wonder who scripted such lines! In between all of this mess you get to know that '242' is a bomb. Yes! 242! I know Shakespeare said whats in the name and all but what are we here for?
Anyway, the plot had twists or so the director would want to call it, only to confuse those in the audience who are not confused yet. All that one can figure out that saif is working to stop an attack on India. It might not be much of a melodramatic movie but had its share at places. While saif tells of how he has been hanging of a rope all his life Kareena cries about her past ,isn't sure of her present and wants a bright future. The climax reminds of the movie DUS as saif tries to fly the bomb to safe place. The twist however is that here Kareena overacts and huffs and puffs and tells saif the password(which she preffered to keep to herself all this time), to diffuse the bomb just in time before she dies.

In short, the movie is not at all worth spending over it. Raabta and Pyaar ki pungi are the only positives which I would any day prefer to watch on YouTube.

i have seen this movie in a private show in Joberg and agree with you. However when you are bored with the surrounding and may overlook the drawbacks this movie is better than other bolywood thrillers. Bol

Haha, for some reason, hearing about an agent trying to defuse a bomb reminded me of Mission Impossible 4 (which was also quite a time-waste!) So this movie's a strict no-no for me! Thanks for the review!

It was in fact Indian version of MI-4 and Bond mixed in the most in appropriate proportion. :P
